Every single time, it was always the same. It started out as something simple, a peace offering, a surprise, or a bet pay-up. It would start with utter bafflement, followed by glee. Everything would seem to be going well.
“Maybe,” he would think, rubbing his hands together in delight, “maybe this time everything will work out and she won’t be able to say anything but ‘This is wonderful, Doctor!’”
But it never worked out. It didn’t matter what time it began, time was relative: Breakfast, lunch, dinner, or tea. The kitchen would begin pristine, and end up a destruction zone.
