Leaving Port, a poem

Leaving Port

Illusion and Fantasy are calling me
To beautiful, bright, seductive shores.
One cannot resist such vibrancy.
The vessel is insanity,
Cleverly christened Happiness.
When passage is offered,
There's no other option
But to accept and
Quickly climb aboard,
Forgetting all that is
Left behind in Port.

Ash honey, I don't know what to tell you. I have taken a cruise many times. They are exhilarating but I was exhausted when I eventually docked.

Beautifully said, I wonder if people can understand the truths you show?

Ah yes. And then there's all the stuff that needs to get done that piled up when one's gone. Makes for much catch up time.

Beautifully said, I wonder if people can understand the truths you show?

Thanks. And, I don't know, but I hope so. Sometimes it's just nice to simply get it written down.

Oh Ash, I think I just realized something. We look at happiness as something on the outside. Why are we doing this? Does sadness have to be our norm? I have been changing the channel some. It just seems the tv is used to the old ones and resets on it's own. We are going to figure this out.

Oh that is such a good point. We don't need to escape anywhere for happiness, it can be right here right now. Maybe we need to find a way of looking at things to where it's not sadness, but a relaxed peace. I've been trying that and it's actually helping a lot. Just realizing that everything's as it should be, with a reason and a purpose.

That was beautiful! I'm definately not one for poetry analysis, but I did love it. I definately believe there are good truths in what you're saying there, even if I'm not smart enough to understand fully exactly what you are saying. *sigh* All I can manage is placing in a lame school contest for poetry. I've never written anything brilliant like that, like you and Susan. Ya'll are awesome! *hugs*

Oh wow, thank you so much. That's what's brilliant about poetry though, each person can take some different meaning and/or truth from it, depending on their perspective. *hugs*
