Actually quite a bit to update on! Just finished Angels And Demons. Overall a pretty good book, full of twists and turns and moments that made me burst out with "No way!!!" However, I noticed that I just wasn't as into it as some books that I've read recently. Then it hit me; it doesn't have much romance in it. Once I accepted that it was an action/adventure/mystery, then I really got into it. lol. Now I'm really amped up for the movie! Reading the book though, I saw Langdon as more of a George Clooney type, not Tom Hanks. *shrug* Definately reccommend it to anyone looking for a good thriller/mystery that centers around ancient conspiracy and the Vatican. :) Next up is probably gonna be Harry Potter And The Order Of The Phoenix. At Borders the other day I did pick up some classics (Don Quixote, Alice In Wonderland And Through The Looking Glass, and The Three Muskateers) but those are probably gonna just have to wait. Also, recently had the hankerin' to re-read the Gemma Doyle trilogy by Libba Bray. That's more of summer reading though. Laying in the sun and enjoying a familiar book.
Speaking of books, my favorite used
bookstore that I mentioned a while back is officially on the move. :( They're only moving down the street to a different building, but still. I stopped by the old location the other day after driving by the night before to see the lights on, but empty rooms. I almost broke down right there in what used to be the scifi room. All the books were moved around and mixed up because they were sort of wholesaling the overstock that they didn't want over at the new place. Shelves were empty, whole bookcases gone only to leave behind faded lines on the carpet. That place was like a second home to me for so long and even though the same employees and books will still be just down the street, it won't be the same. The air conditioning will probably even work in the summer. :( So yeah, took one last look around the old place, ran my fingers across the planks of wood that held old comforts. I just hope the new place will smell the same.
Went to Walmart today and got a giant roll of duck tape. Why, you ask? The plan is to make a duck tape purse. Oh yes. I've made small stuff before, like flip flops and roses, but this is gonna take some instructions. lol. Hopefully it turns out good, if it gets made. Also, while I was there, I got A Knight's Tale and Ever After on DVD, both on the $5 rack! "His horse's flanks??" *sigh* Love that movie.
Survivor started tonight!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! First impressions, LOVE LOVE LOVE Coach. There's just something about him that is appealing. But absolutely can't stand Carolina (sp?), the older chick. Is it just me, or is she completely crazy? I mean come on, you don't spend four hours looking for the hidden immunity idol at the BEGINNING of the game INSTEAD of working on the shelter that would earn you points with the rest of the tribe. She just needs to go. It'll be interesting to see how the season progresses. Oh and did anyone else notice that the tribe members were dressed in the tribe colors? Considering the show chose the tribes, I suspect it was a plan to make it easier for the viewers to identify tribe members.
