why didn't i know rufus wainwright was so awesome until just recently?
so,i have decided not to pursue a graduate degree in the fall from any institution of higher learning. it looks as if i will be teaching drumlines (redcoats possibly included) and private lessons, gigging, and trying to figure out a way to go somewhere and perform. there are a number of ideas being concocted, but nothing too specific as of yet. the basic reason is that i am afraid that if i get a public school teaching gig in the fall that i will never find the hapiness i could achieve as a player and my life will turn into some mr. holland's opus rip-off (even though i like that movie). so, i will continue to be in the gwinnett/athens area before moving to....i dunno, new york or LA or neptune.
i've also reminded myself recently that i used to write a lot of songs, and i'm re-visiting them on the piano and making some adjustments....this is mainly in the hopes that i will be motivated to write new songs. amazing how attaining a music degree will get in the way of making music.
