I promised myself (and pontificated enough about it to everyone who'd listen) that I would participate more in the entire political process, not merely in the elections. I took the first step in keeping that promise today.
I hang my head in shame that I didn't write to him about Geithner, but I did write to the President this morning about Senator Daschle:
Mr. President:
As someone who campaigned for you ardently, and voted for you, please don't let me down. While Sen. Daschle is a fine choice for Secretary of HHS, his record is besmirched, as is Mr. Geithner's. Be the man of your word I *know* you are, and show that you will not tolerate missteps like those of Messrs. Daschle and Geithner. Take a hard line stance; demand excellence from those in your administration. I am counting on you to set the example, Mr. President.
I tried to be as eloquent as possible in 500 characters or less.
HEY! I hadn't had coffee yet. Bite me!
