Hooray for no longer being a dermoid! True to form, most of my cases were either crazy or didn't show up. Derm was ok, but kind of boring :-P
I did have a fun weekend though. It was interesting and full of fun things to reminisce about. Saturday I spent the day at home after an appointment, digging through my room and the basement to find stuff to sell at
darwinweeps' garage sale. I managed to clean out the entire closet of shoes, most of which were from the 80s or 90s and were very colorful ;) I also found my old tap shoes, which I seriously miss using - I only used them for plays at school, but it was fun!! I found lots of jeans laying around from high school, and apparently I can still fit into a pair of 31" high waisted skinny jeans from Guess. I'm not sure if that's good or bad...those, along with all of the other lovely 90s styles that no longer fit, are in the "sell" bin!
Then came the fun of trying to find something to wear for banquet and graduation. I went through all of my old dresses and fancier things that were left at home, and I must say I haven't laughed so hard in a long time! Things certainly have...changed ;) I think two dresses fit, and one of them was the unflattering off-white thing I had to get for high school graduation because nothing else worked under our slightly see-through robes. The rest were rather interesting - first, I have a large selection of about 8 dresses hanging in the right side of the closet from middle school or early high school that will be useful in the future...i.e. whenever I become pregnant I'll be all set! The other extreme would be the three dresses I own that can now only be classified as "booty dresses." The dresses, short to begin with, are a lot shorter now that I've gotten the lovely Wojciechowski hips that didn't show up until college. Mom kept trying to tell me it had nothing to do with my butt and that the styles were just a lot shorter then and I grew...unfortunately I know better ;) I doubt I could sit in any of them, and it was really quite hilarious (maybe you had to be there).
The moral of the story is to get rid of anything you bought in high school that has been in the closet ever since...trust me, that stuff shouldn't see the light of day again!!
Mom and I went shopping for some graduation stuff after the Great Closet Excavation of 2006 and had similar luck...apparently the current style is "Show All of Bra in Front." Also, I look reeeeeeally bad in beige. We laughed...a lot...
Today was full of Argonaut, T'Shanik and Lindagor geocaching and having far too much fun out in the sun! It was relaxing and definitely something I needed - I love my boys and we all don't get to hang out too much anymore. I've missed spending quality time with both of them! There was lots of fresh air, good food, good company, mock beatings and a few annoying but tolerable back spasms to fill the day. Find us at
geocaching.com if you're so inclined, and try out a few yourself! Life is good :)
It's been an interesting week for reminiscing about certain things, but I'm a little too tired to put that all into words. Maybe I'll try later in the week. There are quizzies to come then too ;) Until then, I'm off to go poke at eyeballs. Hooray eyeballs! (sorta)
