Title: The Pirate King and the Bandit Queen
Author: Lina
Rating: PG
Pairing: Sirius Black/Andromeda Black
It was supposed to be him and her.
Riding off into the sunset. The Pirate King and the Bandit Queen, leaving their family behind, forsaking fate and the odds and being happy together. The odd Blacks out. The white sheep. Just the two of them. He was going to save her and they were going to be happy and have a thousand adventures and he was going to protect her and kiss her and be the only one she needed.
He made her laugh first. With his impressions of his mother and hers and by getting the house elves to dance. They were the only ones who understood each other. Their siblings were all cut from the same mold and thus didn’t really care for them, Reggie was always trying to follow and complain and Cissa and Bella nitpick and destroy. But the two of them understood each other, they fit. They were perfect.
Their hands fit inside one another’s. That was how perfect they were. That was how made for each other they were.
They were going to save each other. Meda and Sirius forever, just as it says on that old oak tree on her grounds. There are photos in a box to prove it. With funny faces and serious faces and jokes that no one but the two of them understands (not even James).
She won’t be happy with that boy with the light brown hair and blue eyes. Ted doesn’t match her like he does. He is a cut from the same mold. Is far too different.
He was born to be superhero not a pirate. That’s not what she needs. That’s never what she’ll need. And someday she’ll see that and when she does. He’ll be be waiting and they will ride off together.
Into the sunset. Meda and Sirius. The Bandit Queen and Pirate King. Forever.
She just has to realize it before it’s too late.
