Today I saw the cutest/most shocking thing ever. A duck followed by a trail of ducklings walked out onto the shoulder of the 401. I called to them, "Noooo don't cross duckies!" Clearly, they did not hear me, given that I was inside a truck and there were all these loud-ass vehicles rushing by, but fortunately, they turned right around and waddled into the safety of the grass behind the barrier. A few days prior, I narrowly missed a chipmunk crossing Kilbride St. I actually turned right around and drove back the other way to make sure I hadn't hit it.
I wonder... is opening someone else's mail a federal offence? I was just reading the Criminal Code of Canada, and the closest thing I found to it was stopping the conveyance of mail in order to search or rob, an offence liable for life imprisonment. See, the reason why I'm wondering this is because today, I found a clear plastic envelope containing an edition of Corporate Governance Quarterly. It was addressed to my dad. I opened it, skimmed over a couple articles, including one with the subheading "Where accountability is absent, corruption fluorishes." Really, I thought. No shit. Then I thought about the Conservatives, who advocated accountability, but given recent events, clearly SUCK AT IT. That led me to the next car of my train of thought, which featured justice, which the Conservatives have NO CONCEPT OF. Justice... mail. I just opened a piece of mail that wasn't addressed to me. Hey, isn't that a federal offence? Yeah, yeah... I think it totally is.
