What the Blood?

Saw the Johnstones last night at the Casbah in Hamilton. Purty good times. Halfway through, I totally lost all of my energy and tried my best to avoid all the moshing. For quite a bit of the time though I was at the edge of the mosh region ([?] it wasn't exactly a pit) and kept being thrown off my feet by crazy punk kids. Don't ever go to a show like that and expect not to get injured.

I heard some of the Johnstones' new stuff, and really-- I'm not a huge fan. Their first two albums are great, haven't really heard much of the more recent, but so far, not so good. Still, they're great performers.

The two bands that came before them, Walk Off the Earth and New Cities were amazingg, even though for a while, I wondered if they really just sounded so much better because the two amateur bands that played before them SUCKED. But yeah, they were great. Walk off the Earth has some very catchy tunes. New Cities' band members, you can tell, are really into and in tune with the music they're playing.

Ah crap. Sublime's "What I Got" is totally ruined for me. The first amateur band did a cover of it. Unoriginal. Lame. You are not Sublime.
