and i still love the new bike..
it's been too freaking cold to go riding much, as well as the break in period has been hampering some of my fun... but over all it is been lots of fun
makes me wish i had started riding years ago..
still over at MS, and will be until March when the 100 day 'break' kicks in..

are we actually getting the diesel scoobies in the US? that might be a car worth getting.. my TDI is lasting well, but at 8 years, i'm not holding my breath as to how long it will be before i show up at the VW dealer again.
this bike engine is pretty low strung and has been around for years, so hopefully as long as they are maintained well, huge amounts of miles should not be a problem.
covered my tank bag with Polyseal aquacoat yesterday. i can't justify the cost of replacing the panniers, and the tank bag with superduper waterproof bags if i can get the current ones reasonably water resistant.
i think i would rather have tire pressure monitoring stuff installed for my geeky requirements.. i have cameleon chain oiler that will to go on when the weather gets warm enough to sit outside. http://www.webbikeworld.com/r4/cameleon-motorcycle-chain-oiler/

scooby dooby do! also a note about the new VWs. i love how they totally stole the audi look. they MIGHT as well just get over themselves and merge the lines :) mmmm, S8 :>
oh, yes, the maintainance... yar. looked at a paddock stand today, the spool holders are designed for like 10 mm spools. what are they thinking? i have manly spools ;) gotta get one this week though, if i can. wax and clean that chain! also maybe sneak an oil change in there. got the official kawa filters, not too much more than generic should be, but i'm not finding those locally. got oil. only 2 qts! wow. old bike took nearly 4.
for the tank bag, a good quality UV protectant does wonders too.
mmm, tire pressure monitoring could be cool.
oil... google "fox oiler" or "foxoiler"; friend of mine, peristaltic pump. his own personal hack, not for sale, but easy.
