Inking, inking, drawing, drawing, Apocalypse Now and more inking, drawing...

And that'll be my existence for awhile. I must have had Apocalypse Now playing on my machine's DVD player at least 4 to 6 times this week. There is something about that Coppola masterpiece I cannot get enough of. My favorite scene is the opening sequence, which was a very happy accident. Coppola fished some footage of a forest of palm trees getting napalm bombed from the garbage, watched it, figured that somehow The End by the Doors would go well with it...and there we have it. Sheer f**king genius. I'm trying to get Marymouse to watch it because she's from Ohio like Captain Willard was (Martin Sheen is really from Ohio too!) This means nothing at all. I just find weird little coincidences and shit like that fascinating.

But as this is going on in my ears I sit poised over my computer desk inking, getting ink all over my fingertips, primarily my middle finger as that is the main support for the brush I'm using. My life has been nothing but work, drawing/inking, occasional WoW and listening to Apocalypse Now in the background, The Redux version, mind you. I must have cleaned my brushes at least three times a setting. The sort of ink I use tends to gum up the hairs after a time and utilizing the brushes gets a messy line (well, messy to what I'd prefer).
At this time I just finished inking in a picture of Misty with a kangaroo chick blowing bubble gum bubbles. I think I'll color it in Photoshop. I'll probably show y'all when I get done.

And that concludes my report for this edition of Live Journal.

-D.
