last night....police and arrests.

Oct 20, 2007 09:41

So last night around 4 am, I wake up to a house alarm going off. I think in my head, it must be the neighbor's because we don't usually set the alarm, especially when my dad is home.
but then I hear our phone ring, a tell-tale sign that it's our alarm going, I see light outside my door, and shortly after the phone rings, I hear it ring again, and the dogs downstairs are barking.
I decide it's time to find out what is going on.

I go downstairs and find my parents in the living room, and two police cars outside.
It turns out that they heard Barney bark really loud, and my dad went to half-investigate, half put the bark collar on the dog.
He went in the kitchen and saw someone banging on our garage. He quickly pressed the P for police button on our alarm, setting everything else in motion.
My mom came out and then they saw him in the back yard, at the door, at the window.

So the police came, and were checking the perimeter. The persons car was parked in front of or next door neighbors house, with the lights still on and with a temporary liscense plate. One officer also went to check our neighbors yard, because my dad told them that if it wasn't a burglar it might be a friend of Nick, who lives not directly next to us but the next ,he is 20 and lives in his parents old house with friends, drinking and drugs, and ALWAYS hanging out in the garage they have Tv and chairs in stairs, he's also had a friend drive up into the wrong driveway and rear end our neighbors parked car(none of these things you except on our little street...maybe adultery running rampant, but not this), So that's why we thought it might be someone mistaking our house for his since he was wanting in the garage.

Then the police officer finally found the guy in OUR garage. He was alerted to his presence in there by his SNORING!
They arrested him, duh, for drunk and disorderly conduct.
We're not pressing charges, though i would like those hours of sleep back please.

What an exciting night huh?
So we think it was one of Nick's friends, he looked young and didn't have the manner of someone burglarizing us since he was sleeping in our garage.
I hope that Nick will come over and apologize for his friend, because really something should be said. We were woken up, scared, and my poor mom with the dogs, you know she finally got to sleep around five and then at 645 the dogs are waking her back up again.

Anyways I have to run now, It's my Daddy's 60th birthday bash tonight, and I have lots of cooking and some more decorating to do!
