Ok, for those of you who are interested in my quest for the perfect job, read on... for those of you who aren't... just go take the "which napolean character are you" quiz.
So yesterday I had a series of interviews in Fairfax, VA for a position with IBM. I would basically work with a team of consultants working for various clients in the public sector. We would be doing quantitative and qualitative research depending on the client, and then proposing IBM resolutions to the clients' problems. It woudl be OK I guess. I didn't really like Fairfax, and the way they run the office is kinda screwy... you don't HAVE to go to work, you can work from home... and when/if you decide to go into work, it's like a hotel... you check in and they assign you a desk number... yes, that's right, you don't have your own work space, you have to lug everything with you including your computer every single day, and you are in a different spot working every day... I'm not sure if I would like that really.
On the Winchester/American Woodmark front, my hiring guys from Cedrone and Oneil called today, and aparently they talked to the man today who would probably have the ultimate say in hiring me. He said that my process is on-going (aka, they haven't quit on me yet) and he has to talk to some upper level people about me etc... he told them we should hear something about this time next week... but that generally doesn't happen... So I'm hoping to hear more by my birthday, oct. 14. If i continue on... which at this point, my hiring guys don't see why i wouldn't since i had all thumbs up from the pr firm, i will STILL have more interviews, but he thinks that would be more of a formality/meeting thing. Anyway, that's where I stand... Oh and Senator Robert C. Byrd's office called today asking me to interview monday for a position... but it was a receptionist position pretty much, so i politely declined.
