Have you ever not gotten to know someone because of someone else's opinion of them? Like when you meet someone through a friend, but because your friend doesn't seem to think too highly of them, you never really give them a chance? I realized today I'm guilty of that. The sad thing is the friend whose opinion kept me from really getting to know someone, was the friend who has used me, and let me down the most. The only thing I can think of is maybe my 'friend' was afraid I would get to know this person and really hit it off and not spend as much time w/her. Come to think of it, anything negative my friend had to say about this new person wasn't really bad at all. I wish I would have paid attention to that type of stuff a couple years ago. This makes me ask my self, first, why am I keeping company with such people, and second, why would I be so lazy as to take someone else's opinion of someone over taking the time to get to know them myself?

I guess you live and learn... but definately something I'll remember as I start this next chapter of my life, and meet new people.
