Amsterdam and Kroller-Muller

Had a bunch of lectures this week on the monarchy system, the drug policy here, and the dutch identity. Wednesday me and my school group went to this town called Amersfoort. It's about 20minutes from Utrecht. We had to ask people questions about their Dutch identity for our class assignment. It was pretty cool, very similar to Utrecht though. Friday we went on a field trip to the Kroller-Muller Museum and National Park. Mrs. Kroller-Muller bought a whole bunch of van Gogh's paintings from his sister-law just after he did. We saw a whole bunch of his artwork as well as those of Mondriaan (who is also Dutch), Serat, Monet, and Picasso (those are the people I knew at least). Although it was raining of and on, we took a bike ride around the National Park. There was a nature museum and a old hunting lodge and tons of Dutch wilderness. Friday night we went to a nightclub called storm. It was really fun but man did my feet hurt!! Today we went to Amsterdam. It was gay pride day and they had a huge parade of boats down one of the canals. It was really fun to see. Later we went to Anne Frank's house. We got to up into the annex. It was crazy to thing that she had been here 60 years ago looking out of the same windows. Afterwards we did a little shopping. The weather here is so weird. It will be sunny and warm one minute and then the next it will be pouring rain. The nice thing is though that even though it rains a lot, it usully only lasts for 10minutes. Tomorrow we might go shopping because on the first Sunday of every month the stores are acutally open, however they close on Mondays to compensate. Well I am going to go try to catch up on my sleep. Tot ziens!
