I really like reading about your opinions on comedy because at one point it was probably the most important thing to me. ALWAYS WRITE ABOUT IT because I don't pay enough attention to stand up anymore like I should and you remind me to go buy a new album every now and then.
Oh god, I had one of Margaret Cho's older specials recorded on a VHS when I was in like, middle school and I watched that shit EVERY DAMN DAY. I feel sort of disconnected from her now and it's a little sad. I'll have to try to give her a listen again.
I've been to a few comedy shows in the last couple of years (all mainstream, since this is Fresno) and I think my favorite had to be Lisa Lampanelli. I mean, I've watched a lot of headlining tours that have come through -- Dave Chappelle, Carlos Mencia, Dane Cook and I even went out and gave Jeff Dunham a chance earlier this year and what he lacks in material he makes up for in generally just having a really good stage presence. Though I really don't understand the point in having a CD if you're a ventriloquist. It sort of ... well, whatever. I'd like to go see shows that don't have to potentially sell out The SaveMart Center or the HP Pavillion. I think a smaller venue would be really refreshing.
