More Disney World trip. Animal Kingdom and character breakfast. I didn't really get many pictures in Animal Kingdom,
Animal Kingdom is open a much shorter period than the other parks. On the day we went I think they were closing at 5pm. So rather than do what we did for the other parks, which was leave right after lunch and come back after naptime, we just stayed in the park until Pip got fussy, I think around 2pm, then left and spent the rest of the evening at home.
We also packed a picnic lunch rather than buying food there. Unfortunately we picked a spot that was shaded when we sat down but within ten minutes was in full sun, and I think that made everyone a bit crazy, as we all got very snappy and cranky. So that part wasn't so great. But bringing a picnic into Disney was really easy and something I would recommend, especially if you are already bringing in bags. Definitely at least bring your own bottled drinks into Disney if you don't want to drink tap water.
The first thing we did is get FastPasses for the Kilimanjaro Safari. Then we rode the train over to the Rafiki Conservation Station witha reptile house and the petting zoo. Because we took the first train of the day, the area was completely empty and we had all the staff members attention. It was easy for Pippa to get up close to the windows to see the animals in the reptile house, and it made Pippa more relaxed with the animals in the petting zoo since there weren't a lot of kids running around and working up the animals.
Also Pippa just loves riding a train, any where any time.
Then we came back and rode the Safari, and Pippa really enjoyed that as well.
We had lunch then, and then walked over to the dinosaur area. We rode the Triceratops Spin, which is essentially Dumbo only the cars are shaped like triceratops instead of Dumbo. But while she loved Dumbo, for some reason she HATED this. She cried the whole ride!
After the ride my mother and I took her into the Boneyard, which is an enormous playground, and my dad and husband rode DINOSAUR, the thrill ride. I really wish I could have ridden some of the thrill rides, especially Expedition Everest, but I wouldn't chance it while pregnant. I'm not as paranoid as Disney is--Disney even recommends that pregnant women don't ride the Safari, just because it's bumpy--but some things are too much.
Pippa's favorite part of the day was probably the "excavation site" aka the sandbox in the Boneyard. LOL.
Oh, and we also took her to meet Winnie the Pooh, Eeyore and Tigger. Animal Kingdom is a good place for character meet n' greets because the lines aren't too long. She did really well with Pooh (the first one of the three) but then was just done. Unfortunately I didn't get any pictures myself, and I don't know if my parents did either.
I think we basically went home soon after that. We all relaxed, and we got take-out from Steak n Shake for dinner, which was delicious.
Tuesday morning we had a character breakfast at Cape May Cafe, at the Beach Club Resort. We got one of the last seating times to make it a brunch (I think we sat down at like 10:40). The food was excellent! I especially loved the smoked salmon and piled it on my bagel. The Mickey-shaped waffles were also very good.
Pippa was terrified of Goofy, and kept saying she didn't like his shirt. *shrug* She was alright with Minnie but didn't want to get too close. Donald she liked the best, and actually allowed him to get close enough for pictures like the one I posted before. I think this is because Donald is both short and has a relatively small head. Goofy is tall and Minnie has an enormous head, so both of them are more intimidating.
Then we went home again and spent the day relaxing. We got milkshakes at Steak n Shake during their halfprice time lol. Had some more pool time.
The Animal Kingdom pictures are on the dull side, so I'll just put a few under a cut:
Sitting on my mother's lap riding the train.
Looking at a giraffe with my dad.
Riding the triceratops. She doesn't seem as unhappy here as she actually was. Maybe her death grip on Daddy's shirt gives it away though.
Excavating.
Next: Epcot!
