Pippa got a bad cold, so I was waking up with her every 15-45 minutes last night. She couldn't breathe through her nose and was miserable. The Husband actually left the room after an hour or so and went to sleep on the daybed. He took her in the morning so I could sleep in.
In the afternoon when she was napping I went shopping. I bought two hats for Pippa, one of which will be her Easter bonnet:
The outfit itself was a Christmas present from her grandparents. Sorry for the image quality. And the toy dish in the corner. (Missed that one tidying up!)
I also got
some shoes for myself. I've never actually owned heels this tall before (4+ in). Experimenting, I found that I am the same height as The Husband if I wear the shoes and he is in bare feet, which should be about right (I'm 5'10" and he's 6'2"). So he'll still be taller when he's wearing shoes, but not by much.
Anyway, I spent a while trying them in the store, even danced around in them, and they felt pretty comfortable, so hopefully they will work out well.
I tried to take some pictures of me wearing them but they didn't turn out at all, so I will wait until I'm actually wearing it with my Easter outfit.
I haven't quite decided what I'm wearing as a second layer with my Easter dress. It's a sleeveless pink dress and it's probably not going to be quite warm enough. I kept half an eye open when I was out shopping for a shrug of some kind but didn't see anything. I'll have to sift around in my shawls and scarfs and see if I can work something out. Since I'll be wearing black shoes and a hat with a black ribbon, a plain black scarf/shawl would probably work well.
I do need to get some maternity nylons still. I'm in that danger zone where wearing regular nylons seems like a good idea, until about 20 minutes after you leave home, then you spend the rest of the day trying to discreetly hike them back up because they keep suddenly rolling down.
