Those of you who read this blog that aren't on LiveJournal won't understand at all the context, but in brief, LJ has made hugely unpopular changes and won't change back, operating on the Facebook "they'll get used to it, and if they don't, screw 'em" attitude. Unlike Facebook, however, LJ does not have an effective monopoly. There are plenty of blog hosts to switch to, and that's what a lot of people are doing.
First off, I have to say that as my subject line (ironically) attests, I'm not going anywhere, at least not for weeks. I have a permanent account on LJ, so my costs are sunk here. And for at least right now, I don't have the time or maybe more importantly the energy to think about moving shop. If other people are moving, let me know where you can be found, but I'll be here and nowhere else, indefinitely.
I have a longer post in mind to make about my thoughts on how bad for us as individuals this new paradigm is, but now's not the time to make it. I'm only awake because I had to spend an hour soothing my daughter.
BTW, Friday is day two of the novena (see last post) if you missed day one, just join in anyway!
is this the internets?
