A significant chunk of Nate and Jenny's relationship is built on the foundation of these three tropes. Nate Archibald has this constant need to save, rescue, and protect Jenny Humphrey. It's in his blood. It doesn't matter what else has happened between them, who's involved or what the consequences are. When she needs him, he's there. No questions or explanations needed (just don't ask him to define or even think about his feelings for her). They've even lampshaded their dynamic on the show by having Jenny mention it a couple of times. She's also saved him right back quite a bit as well, but more in an "emotional" sense. They truly have one of the most unique dynamics I've ever seen. That's why it's sad to say that there's no guarantee they'll ever be together for real, let alone end up together.
