London (aka Harry Potter mecca)

Hey Guys! Well, I'm in London, wheee! It's been so much fun (and I've definitely enjoyed a couple days of 'just chillin' with dusty' time). Our hostel is located in the far west of London, about 5 minutes away from Hyde Park. I've spent a lot of time in that park wandering around (they have some interesting statues and stuff, like Peter Pan, Princess Di, something that looks like Hercules, etc.). They also have a couple museums and a palace in their park...with loads of room to spare. I had tonnes of fun saturday nite too because Red Hot Chili Peppers were in town putting on a concert, so I watched part of it from outside the gates. Sound was so-so, but they had big screens set up and it was really fun. It was raining though, so I only stayed for 30 minutes of the Chilis...lol however, I did get to see their opening bands which included some english 80s-esque punk band (complete with angry platinum blonde singer chick and androgenous singer on keyboard) and the godfather of soul, JAMES BROWN! lol He even did that crazy cloak/tired thing of his. It was great.

On a touristy note, I saw the changing of the guards at Buckingham palace, and wandered around the grounds outside for a while (I didn't go in though...it was kind of expensive, and I mean, I've got to leave something to do NEXT time I come back, right? :P) I than went over to Westminister Abbey (again, didn't go in, seemed waaay over priced), but I did go into the House of Commons and watched the British Parliment at work. It was actually really fascinating; they had a lot of protocol for who gets to talk and how they address each other, a lot like Dad's big union meetings must be like. I don't know how he stands it, that part was REALLY tedious. But anyhoo, after an hour of watching parliment people arguing (you could listen to them too!) I went and said hi to Big Ben and the London Eye (the worlds largets ferris wheel...it takes a half hour to do a full rotation, and gives you a superb view of the city. I didn't go on it though, just took lots of pictures OF it :D )

Today the girls got here and we checked out a bit of the British Science museum, but than the girls got hungry and we went and got food. Methinks I will got back soon, because it was quite interesting. Thats all for now, cyas!

Countdown for home: 7 days!!!
