The Time is Now
by: Dustin Landry
Have you ever skipped out on someone you thought was worth your while?
Were you scared, were you intimidated that the love they pushed out would grab you
and make you smile?
What stopped you? What could possibly hold you back from the sensation that was
pouring out onto your mind?
You only live once, and letting the wonders slip by is what keeps your heart in a bind.
Go after what you feel is right.
Strive for happiness day and night.
Some things only pass you by once, and if you don’t take advantage, you’re left lost.
And if you continue to hold your breath, you will eventually have to pay the cost.
Some people say love is a just a four letter word. Do you believe this?
Do you believe that the one person you’ve always loved will always be there for that one
long-lasting kiss?
Being afraid of what is right is what keeps our hearts locked and confused.
Leaving that empty place in our souls is what keeps us blocked and abused.
The time has come to express the true feeling that we’ve all held back for so long.
Speak. Let your mind free. Don’t let anyone else tell you if it’s right or wrong.
You know deep inside, your love, your feelings, your very own concentration.
Keep those things strong, keep them forever expressed, and free of penetration.
The time is now to progress into the person you’ve always wanted to be.
To let yourself out into the “world” and let everyone know who you are, to let them see.
The time is now. The choice is yours. To live as if you didn’t have a second chance.
Be free, let everything out, express your love, let your inner most feelings dance.
I can only end this piece with a final word of advice.
Once again, the time is now. It’s your decision, it’s all up to you to give that person
your love, even if it’s just a slice.
I'm sorry it's been so long since I've updated... I've been incredibly busy! My stress level exceeded it's limit and my emotions were running really high... but it's cool now. That poem goes out to the girl I REALLY love... she knows who she is, and if you know me, you know who she is. She's amazing, and deserves the best, even if I'm not that person. I want her to know how much I love her and I always will.
The Laramie Project was absolutely amazing! That play has massaged and cured my tense emotion. It lets you free. You get to experience so much from it. Yes, it was very emotionally draining, but I feel like a better person. And I got to better understand and know some of the most beautiful people I have ever met! And the people who I already pretty much "knew", I now KNOW... The entire ensemble was amazing and we did it... it's over and in the history books as one of the greatest things I've ever been a part of.
I'm having some wierd women experiences... and I don't know... I'm just gonna have to deal with it. When I go off to college, I'll meet some good girls... and I'll eventually have a great relationship with a wonderful girl! But there will always be a place in my heart for her.... (you know what I mean)...
