So, my life has continued to progress, moving upward, not downward, forward, not backward, and always twirling, twirling, twirling towards democracy. I'm working in Burlington, as well as living in Burlington.

I acted at the Haunted Forest in Williston last weekend, and will be doing that again this weekend. I would say check it out, but the night shows are sold out. There are still tickets available for the Saturday matinée, however.

My big accomplishment recently came a couple nights ago. For about as long as I can remember I have loved to make people laugh. I've watched stand-up comedy for years, and it seemed that the concept was simple, but that it was something for people who knew what they were doing. Still, earlier this year I was inspired and began writing down jokes when they came to me. I wouldn't sit for hours trying to force myself to be creative, but if over the course of my day I thought of something funny, I would write it down. The other night there was a comedy open mic at Higher Ground. While I was nervous, I thought if I keep putting it off, it will never get done. I had done lots of different theater styles, but never just you, with only your material. So, I signed up, and when my time came I took the stage. To my surprise, all of my jokes got laughs. I thought they were funny, but I wasn't what reaction they would get from an audience. On top of that, they will select the best comics from that night and another one coming up in Nov. to perform in a stand-up competition in Dec. This would be great, since this Dec. show will be a real comedy show with an admission charge and prizes. If anyone is interested, let me know, and I'll let you know if/when I do this again. That's all for now, but stay tuned for further updates.

P.S. 2 points to the first person to identify the reference I made and where it's from.
