Professor Flitwick Owled my parents, informing them of my tardiness in joining the affairs within this journal's pages. So I have been properly scolded - along with my brothers - and here I am.
Holidays have been wonderful, I assure you. I was able to borrow several new texts from my uncle Cauldwell (on my mother's side, for those of you who don't know...he's not to be confused with Maxwell, on my father's side) - they recounted battles I have already studied, but I don't think that's really a probably. The language was beautiful in and of itself - I do adore reading about these battles.

Battles to Remember for future reference (though it's not like I haven't heard enough about them already)
Battle of Hastings
- The Battle of Hastings was fought on October 14, 1066 in Hastings. The English army led by Harold ll and a Norman invasion force led by William of Normandy fought for the English throne.
- The initial norman attack was launched in the morning of October 14. The Norman invaders failed to break through the wall of interlocked shields and the English axmen turned back a Norman cavalry charge. In frusteration, william ordered a fake retreat.
- At this occourance, the English broke ranks and chased after the retreating Normans. Without the shield wall it was easy for the Normans to kill the English and William and his army claimed victory.
Battle of Agincourt
- The Battle of Agincourt was fought in a field between the village agincourt and Tramecourt during the hundred years war.
- The night befor the battle the French had a good meal and cozy tents to sleep in, while the English had to sleep out in the rain and had eaten nothing more than a small amount of drie wheat.
- On October 25 1415, the french forces blocked the road to Claris and wanted to fight Henry and his army. The English army was ill and tired from the long march and outnumbered by the french. The French on the other hand were in good spirits, a few fights broke out because everyone wanted to be in the front were they had a chance to capture a English nobel fora hefty ransom. henry ordered his men to move up to longbow range and stop.
- The first row of arrows was fired igniting a cavalry charge and the battle was on. The cavarlry caharge was stopped by the English longbow firing, the muddy field and the sharp stakes of wood the English had driven into the ground. The french army advanved toward the English and by the time the got over the line most of them were exhausted because of the mud the were running through the mud. The french ignored the English archers (who were constantly firing).
- The battle turned to a rout and the French left the field.

The goths planned to attack Rome and battle with emperor Honorius.
- When the appoined day came Acridus armed his forces and was waiting to attack the Salarian gate. The yonger goths suddenly attacked the gate, killed the gaurds and let everyone in. Once the goths were in they destroyed Rome and set fire to the houses.
