I'm not...precisely sure how to deal with Ethan's...problem? If it can even be called that. I mean. I don't think Padma would ever do something like that. She's too honest and...upstanding? I don't want to make her sound perfect - and I'm surely not trying to set her upon some sort of pedestal. But really. She's far too considerate - too nice - to do something like what Cathy Miles led Ethan to believe.
Which brings up another set of issues - this Cathy Miles girl seems to be very intent on spreading discontent. I don't know why, really. I can't understand what sort of pleasure she gets out of it. I certainly wouldn't get any enjoyment out of lying about people. Then again, perhaps it's a good thing I can't understand what would motivate someone to do something like that.
And the bit about Eddie and I...that was so far off the radar. Honestly. Can't anyone take a joke?
I'm surprised that Ethan even thought that of Padma. I'd always thought he had more sense than that. And I'm rather pleased that Adam seemed to be able to talk some sense into him. Lord knows I wouldn't have been able to without sounding horribly biased. And I suppose I am biased. But really.

Today was really quite interesting, to say the least. Little Ms. Miles' little gossip column - if it can be called that - caused quite a stir last night. An amusing stir, but a stir nonetheless. One would hope she's learned from the experience. People don't take kindly to having rumors spread about them.
In other, less controversial news...I've begun some correspondence with some of the under-secretaries within the Incan Ministry of Magic - which is fascinating, in and of itself. I mean - how they manage to sustain a separate Ministry within a country that already has a Ministry...but yes. So I've exchanged several letters with some very nice people in the Incan Ministry and they seem to quite like the idea of my visiting for a while after I leave Hogwarts. I'm rather interested in it, as their history is really very intriguing. I'm quite looking forward to proposing the plan to my father.
I suppose I should actually try to finish my Transfiguration assignment. I'll be off, then.
