An addendum...
...to the Dragon*Con report, and it firmly fit in the "Bad" category, as corollary to the "assholes" problem.
To the "boys" wearing con-badges who felt the need to pass on their greetings Monday afternoon:
I say boys, because the behavior you displayed certainly wasn't that of men. Most of the men I know were taught to treat other people - and women in particular - better than that. We can't even lump for abusive behavior in with the reported behavior of some of the Alabama and Virginia Tech football fans who we shared the downtown area with this weekend. No, you were wearing the same badges we were; you were con guests - "geeks" - just like us.
So why you felt the need to yell "Goodbye, Dragon C*nts!" at us as we passed I don't quite get. Were you just bored? Did we unwittingly cut you off on the escalator? Were all of you suffering from a very specific form of Tourettes? Or did you just think you were being ever so clever, replacing "con" with a similarly sounding but offensive term?
You weren't being clever. You were being dicks. Small, shriveled, impotent dicks. Fuck you.
