So, hopefully I'll get my requested days off around New Year's...
My grandfather wants all of us to visit. He's not really sure why he's still alive-- for that matter, neither are his doctors-- so he's been trying to push a get-together for a while. Thanksgiving and Christmas were no-can-dos, unfortunately. I really want to go, but I don't have personal time yet and it's quite a few days off in a row... Fingers crossed. Frankly, though, I'd rather go and screw up my attendance than not.
Speaking tangentially of work-- I try not to drag so much from there to here because it's frankly pretty dull, but. Just. This is bugging me so much. Why do people think they need to get RIGHT UP IN MY FACE to ask me a question? Why, when I try to get some space, do they follow me? I'm not talking when it's crowded and noisy, pain in the neck though it is even then, I mean in the middle of a perfectly quiet and perfectly spacious area. Or not so spacious sometimes, which. No. Just no. Ugh. That is so creepy. I honestly don't know which is worse-- the taller people I have to strain to look in the face or the people about my height and thus actual facts IN MY FACE. Like, I could bite their noses if the fancy took me. Really, am I being unreasonable? Is it abnormal to feel that close enough to touch is too close in this situation?
SPEAKING NOW OF LITTLE THINGS THAT TICK ME OFF. My grandfather was finalizing some plans with my mom for the trip and apparently my (our, really) favorite pizza place has CHANGED ITS RECIPE. He says it tastes more like Dominoes pizza now. If we wanted Dominoes, would we not order from Dominoes? ARGH. He made a complaint, though. Maybe enough people were annoyed that it'll be changed back by the time we go up. That pizza is one of my favorite things about visiting :(
Before I forget again-- anybody want holiday cards this year? Comments are screened so you can drop your address there, or in a PM if you prefer. Now to respond to similar posts on my flist before I forget about that again too ^^;
