I finally chose and signed up for one of the online workshops supporting people in Gaza. Didn't end up being any of the handful I was initially looking at; other stuff came up and I ended up missing those. This one is a lesson in tatreez, traditional Palestinian embroidery. I just sent in my registration last night and I've been pretty excited!

Uuunfortunately, I miscalculated the time difference-- went back three hours instead of forward. And so I've just realized the workshop takes place exactly when I'm meant to be going with my little nephew to the fair orz

The workshop can be recorded for me at my request but I was really looking forward to it as a live event. Partly in case I had questions for the presenter, mostly for the feeling of community. I've never done a live stitch-along but I've always liked the idea. On the other hand, I could bow out of going to the fair since it's not like I'm driving or needed for additional child-watching. My nephew and my sister both are already looking forward to seeing me, though, and it doesn't feel right to cancel when I don't have to be present for the livestream. So, probably going to ask for a recording and I know it's the right way to go about things but I'm still pretty bummed, lol.
