Alright, now for something a little bit lighter--
I procrastinated starting on this week's blanket because I thought I was going to be doing something pretty quick but it turns out I don't have the yarn I need for that. So, I started something completely different just last night and it's taking longer than I expected, based on the pattern, to work. It's a simple two-row repeat but one of those rows alternates single and double crochets and it just feels unnatural to me to work those stitches as a continuous one-two. Doesn't help that the yarn I'm using is both quite dark in color and a little stiff. I do like the texture it creates, so I'll be continuing, but jeeze. I also realize about twenty-two rows in that I had messed up near the beginning, so I had to frog it back to the third row and restart. Oof! At least I am getting the hang of the pattern, despite my less than stellar feelings for it; that plus the yarn being loosened up somewhat due to having been worked means that it's going much more smoothly this time. Still gonna have to really push it to get done in time, though.
And in more creative news, after missing the deadline for Inking it Out, I was recommended
Get Your Words Out. My scattered brain nearly had me missing that, too, lol, but I've made a pledge to write 150k this year! Will I make it? I don't know but I'm gonna have fun trying! I haven't decided yet but I may combine it with
Write This Fanfic. I think committing to some shorter term goals with help me hit the big one!
