Man. How about this election, huh?
I've been in a very liminal headspace since the race was called, hence not talking about here until now. Despite the fact I've been retweeting/reblogging victory gifs, memes, hopes for the future and more on Twitter and Tumblr, I've been hesitant to post anything on my journals. I don't use them as much anymore, certainly not as much as I use the aforementioned, but they have always felt more personal to me. Committing to anything here feels heavier, somehow. More sacred, almost. Like if I could jinx us anywhere, this is where that bad magic would be stirred up from.
I've been thinking a lot about... well, about how silly that is, first of all. But also about that personal touch and that almost sacredness. And I've been questioning myself, even if there is magic to be stirred, why should it be bad? Why should I find the power to ruin in the space where I still feel most at home online after *coughs* years rather than the power to reinforce?
So, yeah, I'm gonna just say it here: We won. We won and I won't shed a tear if the door hits the old regime on their way out.
not that big a deal honestly,
so... yeah,
