Well we are back in Sydney. A point that I was reminded of at 7:30am when the hammer drill started from the other side of my bedroom wall.
Cat survived mentally intact (as much as is possible when you are made of pure evil) thanks to Jasmina and despite the coating of cement dust the house seems intact too.
To save the blow by blow description of the convention I will stick to personal memorable highlights.
Fursuiting for the first time in my own suit I spent 6 months working on and having everyone want to have sex with me. Oh and not dying of heat exhaustion.
Dancing my ass off with glow sticks at the gala ball to awesome furry raver DJ on a dance floor that had room to twirl around. Bliss!
Managing to wear every one of the 6 costume changes I packed (bar one shirt due to recycling) and still being able to carry all our luggage and fursuits back on the plane with no excess baggage charges.
Reaffirming my dislike of Americans but marvelling at the guests of honour's capacity to keep 200 or so furries enthralled with everything they were saying for hours. The average attention span of a furry usually being measured in nano seconds leads to fidgeting and the need for three media sources to be running at the same time, but these loud mouthed self important ego generators had them staring with saucer eyes and cackling for hours over several days.
They were deffinately worth the money they were payed but probably thought it was a walk in the park due to the small number of Aussy furs that can afford to attend American conventions and hadn't heard any of their material before.
Purchasing several bottles of decent wine from a bottle shop that claimed to be open till 5:30am every night and ending up being the last one standing on the roof of an art deco hotel with the remainder of them in a plastic bag and a half full packet of smokes, watching the moon rise over the city feeling like batman. Good to know I haven't lost my touch.
Also having the ability to avoid annoying people and drama at the slightest whiff of their scent because of the size of the group. And also having some reconciliation with various people, reaffriming once a year friendships and discovering how much a year can change us all.
It's nice to be home. We have a property inspection tomorrow so we have been unpacking and housekeeping today. I've started writing my present list and working out my schedule leading up to xmas. Being poor means alot of you will be getting handmade things this year. I have boxes of materials and widgets and will be making bags, cushions and furry things for the price of my time which these days tends to be pretty cheap.
Hope you are all well! Mwah!
