This will more than likely get updated bit by bit, and posted all together(not like it'll matter to you, dear reader and gentle snowflake).

A few weeks back, hung w/ the mighty grandma herself, donia, @ a Tuesday night.....
totally off-topic: a dog just walked into the store just now. Of all the things I expect around here, a dog walking in and flashing the dog-eyes isn't one of them. Must've come from one of the yards behind the store.
.....White Sox game. Laughs were had, the beer flowed like wine, the White Sox won on a walk-off single by Podsednik to drive in either Nix or Getz. Beckham bent it only the way he could, Getz and Quentin both hit solo shots, one of which I could've caught had it only sailed another 2 sections left of where it landed. Contreras stunk it up, though, and left the game after a grueling and hard-fought 3 innings.
Whilst Tailgating, there was a small group of maybe 4 or 5 something girls, early 20's, one very early 20's. 21 on that day to be exact. Granted, this is according to the magic marker scribbled across her back, but, who am I to question the birthdate and truthfulness of a stranger. The rest of the scribble wanted people to buy her a drink because of said 21st birthday. And she was kinda cute, too, so I offered to take her up on her offer should we run into each other inside of Sox Park. She was already close to mostly ripped by that point, but still, you offer to buy you have to make good on it. But, I never ran into her. Damn the luck. I'm sure she got plenty of others in whatever section she sat to get her good and plowed.

Around the same section of the timeline in this, our great history my precious snowflakes, I received an email from my uncle. It's an article in the Daily Herald about a former bowling coach of mine from back in the day when I was a wee-lad. I really have no reaction to it outside the typical 'oh wow!' and 'I never knew', mostly because outside of the bowling alley, I had no personal interaction w/ the guy. It's weird, though, because I can only remember him as a helpful and knowledgeable guy. He'd go out of his way here and there, but I never had a bad word to say about the man. The most recently that I've seen him, before the article, was a few years ago managing some wood-fence company in West Chicago. He seemed just as nice and friendly, then. But, I guess it's what lies beneath the surface one is often surprised by. Things like the desire to videotape teenage boys showering in the woods. That's just.....wow!

The search rages on in the battle for one's place in the world. About a week-and-a-half ago I heard back from this ambulance company that I had applied to. It's a private company, so from what I understand from the interview I went on they don't respond to immediate emergencies the way an ambulance service provided by a town or municipality would, so there's a lot of room to be able to transport a patient to the hospital of their choice pending their stability. They've transported people to Iowa, Milwaukee, and even the Mayo Clinic in Minnesota from Illinois, so they've got that going for them.
Sporting events, concerts, and things of the like is something they also deal with. This time of year.....high school football. It is definitely a good place to get one's feet wet, especially never having dealt with trauma/emergency situations, and they provide all of the ongoing training required by the state and national registries. Score!
I received a call from the guy I interviewed with on Friday. I'll be going to see him on Tuesday to discuss when I'll be starting my first shift.
Yup!
