Heat Wave ”That's all for now. I want you all to remain here and await further instructions.” with that, together with a barley audible sigh, the feared Akatsuki leader was gone, leaving a room full of his subordinates behind. Kakuzu made his way down the hall, heading towards his room when someone suddenly stepped in front of him. Kakuzu might had startled, but being the top of the notch nuke-nin he was, he just stared at the Uchiha in front of him.
“What do you want?”
“I'm in need of a new cloak”
Kakuzu sighed inwardly. These damn S-ranks had no idea of the huge amount of money that you needed to run an organisation like this.
“Why? Why did you do with your old one? Did you burned it to ashes again?”
“That was Kisame's.”
“Fine.” Kakuzu somehow resisted the urge to roll his eyes. “Why do you need a new one?”
“He's outgrown his.” came the reply, though not from Itachi but from Kisame. The mist-nin looked far too amused for Kakuzu's liking, like this was a conversation he had looked forward too. Still, it was easier getting answers from him than from the Uchiha.
“Outgrown his?” Kakuzu asked, looking Itachi up and down. He didn't look any bigger to him. In fact, Kakuzu never noticed just how tiny he looked. “Should you even be growing? How old are you anyway?”
“...”
“Fine. Come by my room later so I can take your measurements.” Kakuzu sidestepped Itachi, continuing on his way back to his room, mumbling under his breath about “damn S-ranks and their spending ways”. He stopped when he heard Kisame call out to him.
“What?!” Kakuzu asked turning around to stare at Samehada's owner.
“Ah, come off it Kakuzu.” Kisame said with a wide grin on his face. “It's not that bad. A new cloak, big deal. At least you didn't have to deal with his growing pains.”
Growing pains? Kakuzu looked from Kisame to Itachi, who was busy glaring hard at his partner. Kisame didn't seem to notice, or he just didn't care, still grinning at Kakuzu who shivered, he sure wouldn't want to deal with the Sharingan User when said Sharingan User was suffering from growing pains. Shaking his head, Kakuzu turned around again and started walking once more, thinking that maybe he should cut Hidan some slack. Sure, he was loud and whiny and quite...bitchy...but at least he was full grown. One really should appreciate the little things in life.
