As most of you probably know (because I just can't stop talking about it) I have been taking a course about fantasy this summer and on the list of fiction books there was a book called Charmed Life, part of a the Chrestomanci Chronicles by Diana Wynne Jones...
You guys, I have a new book series love in my life. And do you know what else, or rather who else I love now? Chrestomanci. And do you know who should play Chrestomanci? BENEDICT CUMBERBATCH. I didn't think of it myself, I saw someone mention on when I was looking at fanart of the series (there are some amazing fanart for these books!) and now I can't unsee. Not that I want to.
Seriously, he would be PERFECT. For those of you that haven't read these books (I have no idea how famous they are), Chrestomanci, and I mean Christopher Chant when I say that, is a powerful wizard. He is very tall and rake thin, with dark shiny hair and dark eyes and is extremely handsome. He's an impeccable dresser and owns a lot of fabulous dressing gowns. He's also kind of a jerk and a bit of an arsehole sometimes, but he's a lovable jerk who is really sarcastic and kind of intimidating and gets a vague, daydreaming air about him when he's really focused on something.
And for Benedict Cumberbatch... well if you don't know who that is you need to watch BBC's Sherlock. Because it's awesome. And it's only three episodes anyway. Cumberbatch is also doing Smaug's voice in The Hobbit, and that is like +567886580 awesome points just that. (Martin Freeman who is playing Bilbo is also playing Watson in Sherlock. The power of the bromance is a powerful thing indeed ;) And he's just very Chrestomanci-y.
Also, Millie, Chrestomanci's wife, is awesome.
I still have two more books to read but they were checked out at the library so I'm reading Castle in the air instead, a sort of sequel to Howl's Moving Castle that I didn't know existed.
Basically; Diana Wynne Jones = awesomness.
And I'm going to get off the Internet now, before the clock strikes midnight so I have to pay for another 24 hours. Rural life and all that...
As a sidenote though, the programme for this year
book fair is out! Well, okay it's been out for a while but I haven't seen it before. Excited! :D
