be safe at night - sleep with a vampire

It's snowing. First snow of the year!

Joss Whedon talks about the WGA strike on YouTube. Love the man, I agree with the WGA, but please guys, I want to watch Dollhouse as soon as possible, ok?

Moonlight
I always like to watch a good vampire/mystery/detective show on tv, so I decided to give NBC's Moonlight a chance. I really liked the pilot, but unfortunately, the show's been going downhill ever since. While I do appreciate the new cast vs. the original cast from the "old" pilot, I still don't like Beth. The actress does nothing for me, even though I don't know if it's her or the stuff that she's given to play. Not sexy, no fun. Also, everybody has of course been comparing it to all the other vampire shows out there, such as Buffy/Angel, Forever Knight, Dresden Files and Blood Ties.

Blood Ties
Which led to me watching "Blood Ties. Heh. And even though that show airs on the "Lifetime" channel (which usually shows nonsensical shows to a nearly non-existent audience) and has virtually no budget to speak of, that show's really nice! The casting is good, and even though the plots have some serious holes the show's quite entertaining. Not as in "I HAVE to see this" - addictive, but nice. By the way, if you're considering reading the books the show is based on - don't. I'have ordered and read the first two and they are fanfiction-quality at best. The show's a lot better and funnier.

Toronto
Also, this show is set in Toronto. Before, I hardly knew where to pinpoint it on a map, but now I've gotten really interested in this city. I'm planning a trip to visit!

So, Moonlight, which has gotten me to watch Blood Ties, which has introduced me to Toronto, which could definitely be one of the cities I'd like to work and live in for the next couple of years. I love tv! ;)

Bones
The season premiere was available for free on itunes, so I downloaded and watched it. And fell in love with it. I knew Bones was some CSI/crime/detective show and that it had David Boreanaz wearing funny socks. But I watched some random episode from the first season I didn't like it that much, it just didn't grasp me like "House" or "Heroes" did last year. But now the third season has me hooked. It's smart and funny and instantly watchable.

I'm sorry to say that I stopped watching after this season's third episode. Maybe I'll catch up later ...I'm kind of hestitant though, since Kristen Bell has joined the show. And I really don't like her right now (after what she did to Veronica Mars; and did you see the pilot-ish 4th season preview? Horrible, I'm glad they canceled it), and really don't want to watch her on tv.

Chuck
I still watch an episode every now and then, mainly because I like the main character and Adam Baldwin's in it. I don't like the blonde (Sarah?) and most of the other secondary characters are a bit annoying (the sister and "Capt. Awesome" are a total snore)
