Brian Peterson: "In Infamous, Lois was supposed to kiss Clark. We knew that would be a great moment, and Erica very clearly said, 'I don't think this is about the kiss; it's about different emotions.' We had several long conversations, and in the end we saw she had a strong opinion which was valid. We changed the script because of it."
Thank you, Erica!
I couldn't agree more that the barn scene was not about that, and kiss wasn't needed. Especially not the very episode after Lana left. Especially not if Clark would not have been the one to initiate it.
It looked much better this way. If we got a kiss everyone would have focused on that instead on the faith Lois had in Clark, and all the support she showed him.
I'm just really thrilled that Erica always goes that extra mile to fight for Lois, because she wants her to be written well. She loves and understands the character perfectly. And I can't help feeling we, as fans, hit the jackpot to have an actress so passionate and protective of the character she plays.
BTW, that's the second kiss that was supposed to happen this year but they ended up cutting it. I guess restrictions are lifted, and it's only a matter of time. :D
