Link:
Even though his father was still alive, Charles Rivenhall felt as though he was the young master of his household. His father simply didn't take the time do the things that the head of the house should do, and because of that, it all fell on Charles' shoulders. He had to grow up fast, and it wasn't his fault. Though many people around him, especially the women in his family, blamed him for it.
Every now and then, Charles liked to get out of the house and spend time with his friends. Lately he had been hanging out with Felix Merriville, who lived not to far from his own house. Unfortunately, Felix had just as many sisters as Charles did himself. Maybe even more. And they were always hanging around bothering them.
Especially Charis Merriville, who always had her nose in the air and acted like she was better than everyone else. Charles couldn't stand her.
