Title: Escape
Author: RiverOtter
Fandom/Character(s)/Pairing(s): Babylon 5; Susan Ivanova
Genre: Fan fiction
Rating: PG
Words: 230
Challenge/Prompt: Style
Warnings: None
The Maze was designed like an old-Earth English garden and was Susan Ivanova's favorite place to escape the hectic demands of her job as second in command of Babylon 5.
Leaves crunched under her boots as she moved slowly along the narrow path that ran between eight feet tall bushes full of leaves covered in tiny white berries. There was the heady scent of jasmine floating in the breeze. She could smell the damp earth and hear the gentle sound of water nearby. She made a turn and stepped into the center of the Maze. An ornate stone fountain held a delicate figure with gossamer wings standing on a column. Water poured from a bright golden jar in her hands into the wide basin covered in stones and marble that seemed to glow in the soft light. The rim was wide enough to sit on. Susan pulled off her heavy boots and thick woolen socks before setting her feet in the icy water. Ah, she could feel th tension dissipate and her mind float. Hours seemed to pass before she took her feet out.
She felt refreshed. She tucked her sox in her boots and tied them together. Letting the boots swing, she continued through the Maze feeling cobblestones under her feet. At the end, she put her sox and boots back on and headed off to savor dinner.

Willow had drawn the circle and placed the candles at the four cardinal compass points. The candles were lit and the circle closed before she moved to the center She sank to the ground and centered herself before beginning to chant. Her focus was inward and her concentration complete. The words flowed and the candles flamed as she drew closer to her goal. A flash behind her closed eyes and then darkness as the candles flared out. “Are you there? Can you hear me?”
A silvery voice whispered, “Yes. What is your desire?”
“Guidance and peace.”
Wings brushed her hand. “And what will you give?”
“All that I am and all that I will be.”
“That is acceptable.” The wings withdrew. “Wait until you hear a bell.”
Willow sat quietly for what seemed forever. A bell sounded and light flooded the room. Willow opened the circle and cleansed the room before leaving.

Title: The Burrow
Author: RiverOtter
Fandom/Character(s)/Pairing(s): Harry Potter; Ginny Weasley, Molly Weasley, OMCs
Genre: Fan fiction
Rating: PG
Words: 181
Challenge/Prompt: Photo
Warnings: None
A slim redhead walked along the cobblestone road. Bare branches were interlaced above her head showing the darkening sky. Her bright brown eyes glanced upward as she hurried home to the Burrow.
Nestled among rolling hills and wide fields, the Burrow had started as a stone pig trough and been added to over the years. Somehow it was still standing with several chimneys sticking out and three floors full of rooms connected by staircases and tiny hallways.
Ginny’s eyes sparkled as she entered inside. Her mother was busy cooking while her brothers practiced spells which lit up the main room. “I’m home.”
Molly looked up. “And how was your walk, Ginny?”
“Fun but the sky is turning dark. Dark as if there was a storm brewing.”
Molly walked over to the window and looked out. “You’re right. Boys, shutter the windows.” There was a flurry of activity as the boys ran up the staircases followed by banging as they closed and locked the shutters.
The storm hit with hailstones falling like shots. But inside the Burrow, all was safe and warm.
