A/N: I imagine this is what Aria's daydreams consist of when the weather is just right.. -- P.s: One day I will get a manly muse that can tell me how to work Gamma's character just right. For now, I apologize for the possible butchering of him.
The weather was pleasant, the breeze just perfect in that not-needed-but-appreciated sort of way and everything in nature was enjoying life. Birds tweeting lazily in their nests, bees drunk from nectar slept on flower petals, the trees allowed the wind to do most of the work as even they looked to be napping. Days like this seemed to zap all energy from a person so that a simple task like reading a book or playing a friendly-competitive game of pool were just too much work. Lying in a hammock and relaxing under the shade where just the right amount of sunlight peeks through the leaves was definitely more appealing than sitting behind a desk- maybe if she walked out and disappeared for a few hours- no. Disappearing would definitely kill the relaxing atmosphere.. still, it was tempting. Her mind wandered, she didn’t know when reality faded away to bring forth the realm of dreams but she also didn’t have time to question it.
Before her there was a scene in play, a scene she secretly wished she could make reality. It confused her for a moment- was she simply watching or was she also experiencing it? It felt like there were two of her- one to watch as he stood there proudly, dressed to impress and one to nervously walk towards him. Aria remained where she had appeared, gazing with interest as the room transformed from two to rows and rows of chairs filled with people all facing in one direction. Flowers and balloons also shimmered into existence as the rest of the romantic decor settled in place. Her perspective changed again and she could feel the weight of the small bouquet in her left hand, hear the ivory satin dress glide along the flower petaled path and see that the veil had a delicate lace pattern around the edges. Her eyes lifted expecting to see him but all she saw was the room again. Left and right, everyone was staring with pleased expressions as the two finally stood side by side beneath an archway overwhelmed with vines of ivy and white hydrangeas. Aria made a soft ‘oh’ sound, as the entire beauty of the scene stole her breath away. The low chuckle to her right made her realize she was once again by his side and the heat of his hand taking hold of her right hand felt so tangible that all at once she forgot this was a dream- forgot that there was two of her and never once cared to remember that at any moment she would wake up and all of this would disappear into the folds of subconsciousness while she sat in reality. With a grin, Gamma brought the hand he cradled up to place a sweet kiss just inside her wrist. Too soon though, his lips were gone and all that was left was the tingling of skin that told her it had really happened. She wanted to tell him so many things, ask him so many questions but everything seemed to die on her tongue and another man began to speak words she couldn’t quite understand. No, Aria thought to herself momentarily, she was able to understand him- just in a completely different sense than usual. It was fascinating, to feel rather than hear the words. The ceremony was streaming by, faster than she would’ve liked but before she could protest the man before her turned and said to the traditional vows needed to be repeated. She turned, wanting to see Gamma’s gray eyes but was greeted with decorations upon flowers upon styled fabrics surrounded by guests. instead. With a quiet sigh Aria looked back at the couple, a small smile forming as she saw Gamma’s lips move in what she hoped was the ‘I do’ part and in the same exact moment Aria felt her own lips move. Yes, this was happening! Everything was actually playing out without interruptions! She was almost tempted to cheer along with her family as they whooped and whistled when the robed man announced them as husband and wife. A gentle tug at her waist from familiar strong hands brought her closer to the man she loved and trusted completely. He grinned and she did the same as she began to move in - the objective being to be the first to kiss him. He allowed it, supporting her as she inched closer and closer ---
There wasn’t time to gasp or scream in surprise as she hit the ground; chair coming to a noisy clatter right along with her. The pain was real, the brightness of daylight was also painfully real; as was the laughter that filled the room. Before she turned to identify the voice, rough hands were bringing her up by the elbows and holding her still for a few seconds before finally releasing her. “Boss?” His voice didn’t sound worried, amused was more like it. “Are you alright?” He said fighting back another bout of laughter. The aches and pains of falling over were still fresh so that kept back the wave of embarrassment that threatened to crash down on her. “Yes, fine. I guess I fell asleep without meaning to..” She told him while running a hand through her dark strands. “Saw that when I walked in.” He says through grinning lips. A flash of the dream hits her then and she has to look away. “Dream of anything interesting?” Gamma asks as he picks up the overturned chair. It’s something about the way he says it that makes Aria turn to look at him again. “Why? I... I didn’t say anything did I?” She bites down on the fear that she may have been calling his name. “No, no. Nothing like that.” He responds a bit too quickly that Aria arches a brow in question. Her imagination is running wild and the wave continues to grow inside of her as she waits for him to answer. “Well, boss. It kind of looked like you were about to start kissing the desk lamp.” He says around bits of laughter.
And the wave crashes all over the Giglio Nero boss as she marches right out of her office, leaving a still chuckling right-hand man behind as he begins to call out to her. Lesson learned, she tells herself, I’ll need to lock that door.
