I was on a bus. I came into school, and one of my friends ran up to me and told me that a plan had crashed into one of the Sears towers (were those one of their names?) And I was like... er.. ok... I didn’t care, let alone knew what the hell she was talking about. Its one of those deals where someones talking to you, and its jumbled. You hear the words, but they make no connection. I didn’t take in the „plane crashed“ bit, but the rest of it was „the towers were hit“ I was like „so?“ I walk to my class and see it on tv, and I felt like everything had stopped and crumbled to my feet. My German friend Ortwin was an exchange student at my high school this year. The exchange students were freaked out, worried that they would get turned on by americans not wanting them in the country anymore, getting beat up, stuff like that. I remember being so worried about him, and what people would do.
