Sylvanus has hosted some discussions concerning relativism, revelation, and reason. Something brought up in those discussions has been bothering me and I think I've figured out what it is. Mr Mangalwadi seems to be implying that God's revelation begins with the Bible. I disagree.
God's revelation begins in our conscience. How else do we know that the Bible is God's revelation and not the Koran unless it is echoing what God has already been telling us in our hearts? The answer is, we don't. Talking of ancient manuscripts and translations only shows that the Bible is true to the originals. Proofs concerning the fulfillment of prophecy are only convincing to those who already have at least some belief in the Bible.
I am reminded of the scene in C.S. Lewis' The Silver Chair where Aslan tells Jill that, "you would not have called me, unless i had first been calling you."
