We came home from dinner with rfunk's family to a cool house. It seems we have run out of fuel oil. Couldn't it have lasted just a few more weeks

I have been sitting on an exercise ball (minus the chair frame) for the past couple of weeks and love it. I think they are about $75 on eBay. I got one for $65 that was a new chair, but the packaging had taken a beating. Hopefully the chair inside is fine!
According to this article, and much of the hubbub I've been following on the web, the troll had nothing to do with it. Apparently, some folks attempted the code he said he used and it didn't work. It was apparently a huge cataloging mistake on Amazon's part, which some lonely "hacker" used to get some attention.
Rob told me something similar last night. I guess I'm glad it was "user error" rather than a hack. I'm glad they are correcting it. What a nightmare for Amazon.
That whole thing with the guy claiming to have done it and the other guy claiming to have debunked him was quite a sideshow. The way I see it, both were partly wrong but partly right.
The first guy was fairly obviously someone just looking for attention, rather than someone who'd really done it, but at the same time he was pointing out potential flaws in Amazon's system. The second guy was (and more so those pointing to him) was overly pedantic in saying that the first couldn't have done it. That's because (a) there are different versions of the programs in question (I'm pretty familiar with them), and (b) Amazon had the opportunity to change things between the initial problems and the responses. Even the "debunker" admitted that the first guy had a point about Amazon's vulnerability.
