I normally have a natural cycle of making resolutions every few months. So New Year's resolutions aren't a big deal for me. However, since I am actually in the "upswing" of my resolution cycle, I'll post them here, to serve as New Year's Resolutions.
1. Do some yoga practice every day. I was doing this really well last spring and summer, but after I joined a formal weekly class last fall I stopped my daily practice. I somehow thought my private practice was baby steps; training for "the real thing." Humph. I made a lot of progress on my own, plus I lost weight and toned. I want to go back to that. I have gained some of the weight back since I let the practice go. Plus the class doesn't have the range of moves that I was doing on my own.
2. Find a local recycling center and *use it* regularly. I've been meaning to do this for some time. My basement is starting to fill up with recyclables. The local waste company does have recycling boxes, but whether they actually recycle depends on the current market price of the material.
3. Switch my phone service to Working Assets.
4. Pay all my bills on time. I have a procrastination problem.
5. Work toward being a competent massage therapist, rather than getting hung up on being an "A" student. Massage classes start again next Monday. I made A's all through my anatomy classes, but when it came to learning massage technique I dropped down to a B student. Seriously, Sydney, the grades don't mean anything. Just relax and do as well as you can.
6. Tackle my insomnia habit. I've had chronic insomnia since the 9th grade. The pranayama and meditation techniques I've been learning should help with it, but they haven't been, yet, not consistently. I suspect there's some subconscious resistance there. It's time to work on melting the resistance.
7. Save some lj entries as memories. I would like to organize my memories so I can point new readers to them to catch up on the story.
8. Get more userpics. I did this one!
