Last year I had a Zen Calander: simple black and white photographs, each accompanied by a Zen or Taoist saying.
This year’s calendar is a Hafiz calendar. Each month has an illustration and an accompanying short poem or by the Persian Sufi Poet Hafiz. January’s poem is:
“The body a tree, God a wind. When He moves me like this, like this, angels bump heads with each other gathering beneath my cheeks, holding their wine barrels, catching the brilliant tear rain of gratitude.”
~Hafiz, from I Heard God Laughing, translated by Daniel Ladinsky
