rfunk's commentary on Wednesday night's
Presidential debate was great, so I won't try to duplicate it. You should go read it.
I will say one thing, though. When McCain said that concern for the health of a pregnant woman is an "extreme pro-abortion position", my stomach heaved. The man doesn't believe that woman are actual people who deserve health and well-being like the rest of humanity (read, men). And that any concerns about the health risks of bringing a pregnancy to term are exaggerated, and any woman who says she wants an abortion to save her own life or health is lying.
My god, that man is frightening.
Here is the full quote, from the
debate transcript:
MCCAIN: Just again, the example of the eloquence of Senator Obama. He's health for the mother. You know, that's been stretched by the pro-abortion movement in America to mean almost anything. That's the extreme pro-abortion position, quote, "health."
