A quiet July 4th
I miss my Polybius cat, but Patches misses him more. They kept each other company during the day. She groomed him; they slept curled up together. Patches has always been a cat who craves connection. I’m so glad that rfunk works from home. Patches spends most of her days now stretched at his feet. She would be even more lonely without him here.
Speaking of working, rfunk; spent over three hours working yesterday afternoon. On a federal holiday, he upgraded his work’s email servers. Such is the life of a sysadmin. Gotta work on the servers when no one is using them.
I spent that time cleaning the kitchen. It is now dusted, vacuumed and mopped. And I am seeing the virtues of a small kitchen.
Now I’m going to straighten and dust the living room, then set the Roomba to do its thing. I’m sure you are all as excited as I am.
