As I turned my car onto my road yesterday evening I noticed a large bird standing at the edge of the road. Not wanting to hit it, and also to get a better look, I stopped. The hawk turned to look at me, then flew to the top of a large tree to my left, crying annoyance at being interrupted. It was golden-brown all over and I didn't notice a red tail.
I finally got around to mowing the yard, which had needed to be done for at least a week. I even mowed the big field in front. I think mowing everything took about an hour and a half.
