I have been on anti-biotics since Tuesday afternoon--5 days. My doc gave me Bactrim, a sulfa/trimethoprim combo, since I'm allergic to penicillin. My sinuses started to clear after a day or two, but I still got achey and tired. Now I'm definitely worse. I have more sinus congestion and my throat is back to being sore. I have a low fever (99.4) and my joints ache. I'll go back to the doctor tomorrow.
As my mother said, I was not blessed with a strong immune system.
EDIT: Checking my entries from the last time I was prescribed antibiotics for a sinus infection, in November of 2005, my doctor also prescribed Bactrim for me then. After 4 days I wasn't seeing any improvement, so she prescribed Levaquin, which made me tired, but cleared up the sinus infection. I'm thinking Bactrim doesn't work for me, and I need to make a mental note to tell doctors that when they prescribe it to me.
