Dream within a dream

I have slept most of the day. Much of my sleep is filled with dreams and half-dreams, lucid in that I know I am dreaming. I know I am asleep, and yet the sleep is so deep and heavy that I cannot wake myself. Hours pass this way. In my sleeping consciousness I become fearful that I will sleep forever and never wake. I am afraid someone has done this to me, and like Moriarty in ST: Next Generation I will be trapped in this dream state forever.

The cats, wanting their dinner, wake me. Thank goodness for the cats.
