Winter break

I'm back at work today, after four days off. It was a nice holiday. For presents I got the volumes of poetry that I wanted: Edna St. Vincent Millay, Hafiz, and Mary Oliver. I also got a very nice chef's knife that I asked for, which will make cooking more fun. I also received several very thoughtful gifts, including cd's of some of rfunk's indie music that I particularly like.

There was a little shopping before Christmas, and some pleasant low-key visiting, and not a whole lot else. I found myself to be really sleepy and low-energy. I had hoped to do quite a bit of housecleaning. I did some, but not nearly as much as I wanted to. I know I needed the extra sleep, but I think the grayness of the days made me even more lethargic. There was much laying about. I suspect that I need to start planning my housecleaning activities in half-hour chunks of time rather than full days, at least until the sun returns.
